Survived our 1st Alaskan Winter!

Seven bottles of moisturizer later, six months of the coldest weather we've ever experienced in our lives, and after almost seven months of living in Alaska; we are happy to say we survived. Enduring our first Alaskan winter, being bi-vocational, trying to hear what God wanted us to do here, being an encourager to others, trying to get involved in the community and thru the association; in all honesty, it has been a blessing and a challenge. However, God has been faithful to provide for all of our needs, encouraged us (thru His words, and other believers) when it got tough, we learned, and grew more thru it all. Walking in faith, stepping out in obedience to serve him, and following His voice to coming here was the beginning of our journey to Alaska. Then our training lessons went into overdrive; patience was the biggest thing He kept showing us, Love for Alaska, and He reminded us of His Passion and our Passion must connect. I suppose we will always be in training for we all never stop learning from Him. People ask us what our visions and our goals are for missions and ministry here?  Honestly, when we first got here we had no clue or idea, however He is slowly showing us and things are starting to make sense. We are good at winging it, knowing that God is in control, and we don't need to always know the answer to that question at first. This is His gig and we are thrilled to be a part of it. It is true Alaska does get under your skin and it is easy to fall in love with all things Alaskan.
