VIVA Vegas & FL trip!

It is True that Vegas is a city that never sleeps.  Now we know why it's called "Sin City" anything goes.  Especially, comes alive at night.  Boredom is a non-issue in this city.  Tourism is year round, people everywhere, and from many cultures.  We enjoyed our visit here with temperatures in the 30s-40s it was like summer!  Our kids were the only ones swimming in the outside pool.  And it was so nice Not having to wear bulky coats for a couple of weeks!

Elvis in the background and Thor chatting with fans.

Very talented of this guy who is taller than my husband of 5'7 could fit in this box!

Took kids to enjoy the public park.  See artificial grass, it's everywhere!
Beautiful winter weather and sun!

Chinatown is a good size area.  It was pretty at night too.

Hungry??
With authentic chinese food, you know what you're getting for dinner.

Happy New You!

Wow, can you believe it's 2013?  Well, we started this new year with a family trip to the lower 48s (mainly Nevada and Florida).  Although, we were on the move everyday, it was wonderful to be pew sitters for several Sundays and get fed by other Pastors, very encouraging to fellowship with many believers, and enjoy the warmer/sunnier weather.  We didn't realize how we took it for granted living in the Bible Belt where churches are abundant and more like minded believers.  I recall during our vacation as we were driving around our hometown in FL, my kids were counting something out loud and my oldest child excitedly says, "Wow, mom and dad I forgot there's  alot of churches in every corner here!"  We said, "It's true that's why they call this area the Bible Belt."

As the title of this post says, "Happy New You".  It all started with my youngest who interpreted "Happy New Year" in her own way by saying, "Happy New You" since she was 4 years old.  She has said it every year since then.  We love the originality of it, so it stuck as one of our favorite quote.  In many ways, it has a very profound meaning.  Most of everybody has a New Year goal or goals.  In a spiritual sense, what are your goals this year?  For those who don't know Christ, why not become a New You in Christ?  The Bible has alot to say about becoming a New You in Christ (1 Corinthians 15:22, 2 Corinthians 5:1, Ephesians 2:10, Ephesians 4:23-24, Romans 12:2).  For believers, are you in need of a revival in your relationship in Christ?  A wonderful way to get out of that plateau, is to share about Him to others and serve.  You will grow passionately in Christ when you start sharing and serving Him. (Philemon 1:6 "I pray that you may be active in sharing your faith, so that you will have a full understanding of every good thing we have in Christ").  Become more involve in your church through helping others, see where there is a need to serve, ask your pastor how you can be utilize.  As believers, we are All Called to share His message of hope and to serve.  Certainly something to think about for 2013.  As long as you have breathe of life on this earth, it is never too late to be a New You in Christ!
