Celebrating One Year in Whittier!

May 29, 2011 we moved to Whittier.  It was not planned on our part, an open door from God that came up fast & unexpectedly.  When God makes it happen, you'll know.  Cuz it will be fast and He expects you to act and respond quickly too!  Lest, you miss the blessing of opportunity the first time.  It all started two weeks before Easter Sunday of 2011.  We were excited for our first Easter celebration festivities with our new Alaska home church - Filipino Bible Church (which we have been attending for 11 months).  We were shopping at Wal-Mart when we get a miss call from Mike - The state convention dude.  K listens to his voicemail and has that "Oh, man what does he want me to do?"  Come to find out, K had been asked by Mike to go help out a pastor-less church in anchorage, but K turned him down.  This is also the same Mike that K turned down Alaska with his first email from Va.  So K decides to call Mike back, and sure enough...Mike was asking K if he could go down to this small rural church in Whittier to do their Easter Sunday Service.  Mike got a call from the church secretary/treasurer that they needed someone for Easter Sunday.  And K was the last person Mike called.  Everyone else was busy or unavailable.  So K hesitantly says, "All right, I'll go".  So we went to Whittier on Easter Sunday.  It was K's first time to do an Easter Service, he was nervous.  Then afterwards the 3 core members asked all of us to come back every Sunday.  And we did for a couple more Sundays.  Then finally they asked us to stay and be their full-time Pastor family.  And we said, "Yes".
